About this track:
Tropical house is a subgenre of deep house and house that emerged during the early to mid 2010s. The term was coined by popular tropical house Australian DJ and producer Thomas Jack. Artists of the genre are often featured at various festivals, such as the appearance of Bakermat on the Bakermat and Friends stage in Tomorrowland 2014. Other popular tropical house artists are Kygo, Klangkarussell, Klingande, Lost Frequencies, Matoma, Robin Schulz and Felix Jaehn. Rising tropical house artists are Bergs, DIMMI, Kav Verhouzer, Kungs, Mokoa, MYNGA, Naxxos, Ofenbach, INSTRUM, Sam Feldt and Thero. Whilst some earlier house tunes like the 1997 hit song “Sunchyme” by Dario G use many features of the genre, it was not until the early 2010s that the genre became defined.
The name of the genre itself started off as a kind of a joke by Thomas Jack, but has since been gaining popularity among listeners. The term “trouse” should not be confused with trop house as “trouse” is used as the name of the genre that instead combines the feeling of trance and the beats of progressive house, utilizing electro synths.
Electronic dance music (also known as EDM, electronic dance, dance music] club music, or simply dance) is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres produced largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals. Produced for playback by disc jockeys (DJs), EDM is generally used in the context of a live DJ mix where the DJ creates a seamless selection of tracks by segueing from one recording to the next.
The term “electronic dance music” and the initialism “EDM” was adopted by the U.S. music industry and music press as a buzzword to describe the increasingly commercial American electronic music scene that developed in the late 2000s. In this context, EDM does not refer to a specific genre, but serves as an umbrella term for several genres, including techno, house, trance, hardstyle, dubstep, drum and bass, trap, Jersey club, and their respective subgenres.
